Every year, around 100–150 women in the UK develop a vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) — a devastating condition that causes constant urinary leakage, pain, and social isolation. Despite the impact, there is no dedicated UK charity providing support, information, and advocacy for these women. Many are left misdiagnosed, stigmatised, or unsure where to turn.

VVF Support UK exists to close this gap. We:

Provide clear, accessible information about diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.Offer peer support groups and helplines so no woman faces this journey alone.Advocate for faster referrals to specialist NHS centres.Raise awareness among clinicians and the public to end the silence around this hidden condition.Stand in solidarity with women worldwide who live with untreated fistula.

💜 Your donation will make a direct difference.

Every gift helps us run helplines, create patient resources, connect women with specialist care, and push for fairer treatment across the UK.

Together, we can restore dignity, hope, and healing to women living with VVF.

  • About Us

VVF Support UK was founded from lived experience. After developing a vesicovaginal fistula following routine gynaecological surgery, I found myself living with constant leakage, pain, and a silence that was just as damaging. I was misdiagnosed, dismissed, and left to navigate a frightening and isolating journey with little support or clear information.

No woman should have to go through that.

VVF Support UK exists to change this. We are the first UK charity dedicated to women affected by vesicovaginal fistula — a rare but life-altering condition. Through information, peer support, and advocacy, we are working to ensure that women are believed, treated with dignity, and referred to specialist care quickly.

We also stand alongside women worldwide who live with untreated fistula, often for years. Our mission is simple: to close the gap in VVF support — in the UK and beyond.
